Since 2012, Taner has been a lecturer in the Computer Science and Engineering department at his alma mater, UC San Diego (graduated with a BS in Computer Science in 1996). Mr. Halicioglu is also currently a Technology Adviser and Angel Investor, and is the founder of “Keshif Ventures”. He previously worked at Blizzard Entertainment as the Lead Reliability Engineer for Battle.net from December 2009 to December 2011.
His employment previous to Blizzard was: Senior Software/Operations Engineer at Facebook from October 2004 to November 2009; Senior Tools Engineer at eBay from January 2002 to October 2004; Senior Software Engineer at Opsware (née Loudcloud) from November 1999 to October 2001; Software Engineer, Network Engineer, and Senior Network Statistics Engineer at Globalcenter from December 1996 to October 1999. The majority of his technical contributions have been as a senior-or-higher technical operations position, where he helped ensure systems were scaled, monitored, and troubleshot/debugged properly. Additionally, Taner has been a member of various advisory boards, including the UC San Diego Alumni Board, the UC San Diego Computer Science Alumni Board, as well as technical advisory boards for several of his investments.
